大同礦產資源豐富，尤以煤炭資源儲量最為豐富，是全國最大的煤炭能源基地。近年來，大同強力推進傳統產業改造提升和戰略性新興產業發展壯大，形成了以傳統能源、新能源為核心，大數據、裝備制造、現代醫藥、文旅康養、特優農業等為突破的產業發展格局。特別是近年來搶抓數字經濟發展機遇，持續加快數據呼叫、標注、清洗等數字服務業發展，大同經濟正在加快由“輸煤炭、輸電力”向“輸數據、輸算力”轉變。
Datong is rich in mineral resources, especially so in coal reserves. Thus, the city is one of the largest coal energy bases of China. In recent years, by vigorously promoting the transformation and upgrading of traditional industries and the development and growth of strategic emerging industries, the city has developed a modern industrial system taking conventional?energy and new energy as its core and digital economy, equipment manufacturing, pharmaceutical, culture and tourism, characteristic agriculture etc. as breakthroughs. The city has taken the opportunity to develop a whole chain of digital industries from data call to data labeling and data collection. Datong has been accelerating the transformation from coal and electricity supply base to data, computility and digital services supply base.
